DEEP SILVER announced today the UK signing of DREAMCATCHER'S fantasy turn based PCCD game, ETHERLORDS II, by NIVAL INTERACTIVE. Sequel to the innovative and widely acclaimed ETHERLORDS title, this novel blend of strategy and turn based combat magic prompted by trading card games, challenges players with a huge array of spells and creatures in a lavishly detailed 3D world. Available on Windows PCCD, ETHERLORDS II releases 5th March 2004.
The world of Ether is fraught with danger and mystery. The story is presented as an intriguing tale that is slowly uncovered by talking to the world inhabitants and completion of various quests as seen from each races unique perspective. Gathering resources also provides excellent opportunities for exploration and allows players to purchase more powerful creatures and spells.
Five campaigns introduce players to the main races of the world and a wide range of different combat styles and tactics. Each race has their own distinct creatures to summon and spells to cast, as well as a variety of cross-racial magic and monsters.
Magnificent arenas provide a lush backdrop for intense tactical combat where the player's tactical prowess is constantly tested as their powers to summon creatures and cast spells are based on a system of random cards and ether channels loosely based on the trading card style of play.
Multiplayer is where the combat mode truly excels as players face off against other online opponents. ETHERLORDS II features a dedicated server that provides an auto-rating tournament system as well as advance anti-cheat defenses for one on one death match duels as well as Olympic style elimination matches for up to 8 players simultaneously.
