SEGA Europe Ltd, is inviting everyone to come and shake their coconuts and boost their energy with Red BullTM through the launch of its most addictive multiplayer game yet – Worms 3D.
Gamers will see the popular Red Bull energy drink feature as a special 'power-up' that restores energy to worms in the game when a bonus is picked up. Additionally, a new track from the celebrated Danish Duo Junior Senior – "Shake Your Coconuts"- is featured in the game prior to the record's official UK single release date in early 2004, providing gamers with the ultimate soundtrack to enhance their fighting spirit and Worm 3D WormWars.
Released through SEGA Europe Ltd across Europe on October 31, 2003 Worms 3D is the first 3D incarnation of the highly acclaimed and best-selling Worms franchise. This latest version marks the first time a core Worms game will appear on the latest generation consoles including Nintendo® GameCubeTM, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system from Sony® and the XboxTM video game system from Microsoft®, as well as the PC.
Continuing to capture the true humourous essence of the game, teams of worms battle across bizarre randomly generated landscapes and utilise an arsenal of devastating weapons – from bazookas, grenades to sheep and aggressive grannies! More information on the game can be found at www.startawar.com.
Sarah Tinsley, Head of Entertainment Marketing, Red Bull UK, commented, "Red Bull has long energised the computer games industry, and it seemed only natural to extend this relationship by working with Worms 3D. We were especially keen to get involved in this project, as the game is dynamic, exciting and perfectly communicates the functional benefits of RedBull."
Matthew Woodley, European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe Ltd, was too busy playing Worms 3D, drinking Red Bull and listening to music to comment, but agreed with the above statements.
